Abstract

Single frequency fiber lasers have attracted considerable interest due to their high wavelength stability and accuracy, low noise, and narrow linewidth. Frequency tuning and modulation of a single-frequency laser are very important for many applications such as precise frequency standards and coherent communications. We report here a compact high power single frequency Er:Yb-codoped fiber laser with the capability of frequency tuning thermally and piezo-electrically.
