Generation of attosecond electromagnetic pulses: breaking through the sub-attosecond barrier

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Using two-color two-polarized pump for high-order harmonics makes possible the generation of electromagnetic pulses of extremely short duration. Necessary conditions and specific pump parameters were found which minimize this duration: tg ~ 1-10 attoseconds. With the increase of pump intensity tg decreases and can be reduced to the sub-attosecond scale.
