Virtual Speckle in Phase Retrieval

Not Accessible

Abstract

Even for a speckle-free optical imaging system, a speckle-like pattern can be generated in a phase-retrieval computation. The origin of this pattern, which we term virtual speckle, is the result of an interaction between detector noise in the acquired data and the aperture constraint in the retrieval algorithm.
