Abstract

Forward Error Correction (FEC) has been extensively studied in recent years, and as the result the novel powerful FEC schemes, such as turbo codes and iterative decoding have been proposed [1-2]. However, their application has been limited due to high complexity of existing algorithms. For efficient and reliable information flow in optical networks, novel low complexity encoding algorithms are required.
