Abstract

Mixtures of the two most prevalent bacteria found in oral plaques were prepared and analyzed under a Raman microscope. Relative concentrations of the two bacteria were determined with an accuracy better than that of standard lab-bench methods. Extensions to the analysis of fresh oral plaques are envisioned.
