Enhancement of cavity ringdown effect using electromagnetically induced transparency

We show that the unique absorption and dispersion properties of the electromagnetically induced transparency can be used effectively to enhance the cavity ringdown effect. By placing an EIT medium inside an optical resonator, the conditions for observing cavity ringdown oscillations are greatly relaxed.
