Abstract

Mid-infrared fibre lasers offer high efficiency, high power and geometric compactness and are fast becoming a mature technology. In this talk, I will review the recent progress in the effort to delineate optimal fibre laser configurations capable of generating output in the 2µm–3 µm region of the spectrum.
