Abstract

We have observed very fine filamentation of strong femtosecond pulses propagating through liquids. A short probe pulse is used to capture a hologram while the pump pulse traverses and interacts with the medium. Results are presented for pulse propagation in CS2 (high third- order nonlinearity) and water.
