Abstract
Integrating nano/micro-electro-mechanical systems (NEMS/MEMS) to precisely control the nanoscale structure of a photonic crystal allows novel reconfigurable and tunable optical behaviors. Applications include dynamic optical switching as well as nonlinear Doppler-induced frequency conversion.
