Imaging Polarization Changes in Patients with Neovascular Age-related Macular Degeneration

Abstract

New vessel membranes in 19 patients with Age-related Macular Degeneration were investigated with imaging polarimetry. The rim of the new vessel membrane was not only brighter, but exhibited a different polarization content from the normally birefringent retina.
