Mesoscale ultrasonic fluctuations in open and closed disordered systems

Abstract

Mesoscale fluctuations of multiply scattered waves provide a new source of information about disordered systems. We use laser ultrasonics to make spatially dense ultrasonic measurements in random media, providing detailed information about chaos and localization.
