Theory of optical transport in the chain of spherical dielectric micro- resonators

Abstract

Coupled whispering gallery modes in the linear chain of dielectric spheres are considered. An interaction between modes with different angular momentums is shown to result in next-to-the-nearest neighbor interaction term in a tight-binding approximation.
