High Harmonic Generation in Ultraintense Laser Fields

Abstract

As the intensity of the laser field increases beyond 3 1016W/cm2, the Lorentz force deflects the electron forward, reducing rescattering flux through the ion. At 1017 W/cm2, this eliminates recombination and high harmonic generation.
