Novel Mach-Zehnder Polymer Modulators Using Coplanar Waveguide Electrodes

Abstract

Polymer modulators using CPW electrodes are demonstrated to our knowledge for the first time. A novel in-plane CPW electrode structure is introduced to enhance overlap factor. In first experiments we achieved Vπ of 23.6V for 2cm-long device.
