Synthesis and implementation of 3-D wavefields for ranging applications

Abstract

Superpositions of Laguerre-Gaussian modes are used to measure range. Beam patterns are experimentally realized using a spatial light modulator (SLM). Fundamental and practical limits of the 3-D beam synthesis problem are investigated.
