Theory of Reflection by Volume Gratings and Boundaries: Polarization and Interference Properties

Abstract

Fresnel and volume-holographic reflections are studied. Hyperbolic arctan of reflection amplitude is shown to be the sum of two contributions: due to impedance and refractive index modulations. Mutual influence of Fresnel and volume reflections revealed.
