Abstract

Polycrystalline 1 at% Nd:YAG ceramics were prepared by reactive sintering. We have measured in-line optical transmittance and scattering loss for several compositions near stoichiometric ceramics. The best optical transmittance (~84%) was obtained at stoichiometric composition.
