Simply Measuring the Electric Field of Very Long, Complex Pulses

Abstract

We introduce a simple spectral-interferometric technique for measuring (in time) the intensity and phase of arbitrary complex pulses >1-ns long with <100-fs substructure. It uses a low- resolution spectrometer and multiple replicas of a reference pulse.
