Monte Carlo Simulations of Raman Scattering from Bone within a Multi-Layered Tissue Model

Abstract

A Monte Carlo model of photon transport in layered biological tissue predicted the detected Raman signal from an underlying bone layer. Simulations quantified the effect of each tissue layer’s optical properties on the detected signal.
