Study of Angle Dependent Reflection From a 3D Quasi-Ordered Photonic Crystal

Abstract

We measured angle-resolved specular reflection, backward reflection and diffusive reflection from bird feathers with quasi-ordered structures. The angular dependences of reflection spectra are distinct from those of 3D photonic crystal, due to isotropic short-range order.
