Passive stabilization of slow light delays in SBS-based system using a Faraday rotator mirror

Abstract

Stimulated Brillouin scattering in non-polarization maintaining single mode fibers is often used for slow light. Due to polarization sensitivity in the fibers the delay may vary as a function of time. We demonstrate a technique that can be used to stabilize the delay.
