Minimization of Gain Error due to Spectral Hole Burning using HGC-EDFA with Generalized Dynamic Gain Range

Abstract

A method to minimize gain error due to SHB based on HGC-EDFA is demonstrated. A simultaneous pump and VOA attenuation control scheme provide SHB reduction control and enable add/drop of any number of channels (C-Band).
