Abstract

We have been conducting research on spatial imaging-type integral three-dimensional (3-D) TV for future broadcasting. The system was based on integral photography using a lens array for capturing and displaying 3-D images. We used full-resolution Super Hi-Vision (SHV) video that had a frame resolution of 7680 × 4320 pixels to capture and display elemental images. The pixel number of displayed 3-D images was four times higher than that obtained with the previous prototype system.
