Abstract

I will describe two interfaces for optical biosensors: (1) a label-free biosensor that exploits the local surface plasmon resonance of noble metal nanostructures; and (2) a polymer brush interface on glass that abolishes non-specific adsorption leading to a femtomolar limit-of-detection of protein analytes in whole blood.
