Characterization of the Loss in Plasmonic Modes of Metal- Insulator-Metal Waveguides by a Prism-Coupling Approach

Abstract

A prism-coupler-based method is presented for characterizing plasmonic modes in metal-insulator-metal waveguides from the reflected power in a transverse configuration. The loss is obtained without physically changing the waveguide length as in conventional methods [1].
