Measuring and modifying the spiral spectrum of entangled photon pairs

Abstract

We have measured the complete probability distribution of the orbital angular momentum modes that are generated in spontaneous parametric down conversion. We show how on-purpose phase mismatching increases the spiral bandwidth and flattens the modal distribution.
