Abstract

This paper focuses on the design and fabrication technologies of the progressive addition lens (PAL). PAL has a front surface with three zones could be used to remedy presbyopia. The power distribution of the three zones are different, therefore the human eyes could watch objectives in difference distance. The front surface of PAL is described by B-spline parameters. After the optimization of the B-spline parameters, the surface is fabricated using CXZ three axes diamond turning technology.
