Optical Nanofiber Cavity: A Novel Workbench For Cavity-QED

Not Accessible

Abstract

We introduce the experimental realization of optical nanofiber cavity by drilling periodic nano-grooves on a sub-wavelength diameter silica fiber using focused ion beam milling. Due to the strong confinement of the field in the guided mode, such a nanofiber cavity can become a promising workbench for cavity-QED.
