Abstract

We report on the application of Sum Frequency Generation (SFG) in the frame of aperture synthesis for high resolution optical imaging in astronomy. SFG is a non linear process previously dedicated to optical data processing and telecommunication. This process allows convert an infrared spectrum to shorter wavelengths. Applied to astronomy it allows to propose alternative instrumentations with the possibility to take advantage of the efficient and mature technologies developed for visible and NIR.
