Adiabatic Perfectly Matched Layer for Absorbing Slow Group Velocity Modes in Numerical Simulation of Photonic Crystal Waveguides

Abstract

We show why some of the previously reported PMLs do not work well in absorbing slow group velocity modes in PCWs. We also present a unique method to efficiently absorb these modes for PCW simulations.
