Optical sensing of bacteria by means of light diffraction

Abstract

The novel sensor based on Fourier transform optical system with converging spherical wave illumination is proposed for bacteria species characterization. Examination of the individual bacteria colony diffraction pattern can be used to distinguish bacteria species.
