Nano-sensing with a Reference Interferometer

Abstract

We report a reference interferometer technique to monitor optical-cavity, resonance-wavelength shift below one femtometer. With this method, single nano-beads at a record 12.5 nm radius and Influenza-A virion in aqueous environment are detected.
