Observation of self-trapping of an optical beam in “air-bubble”-type nonlinear nano-suspensions

Abstract

We demonstrate self-trapping of light in both high-index and low-index nonlinear nano-suspensions. In particular, self-induced transparency up to four diffraction lengths is observed for the first time in colloidal suspensions with induced negative polarizability.
