Optical Coherence Microrheology: Imaging Tissue Viscoelastic Properties

Abstract

Volumetric imaging of tissue mechanical properties using active probes (magnetic nanoparticles) and passive probes (plasmon-resonant gold nanorods) by processing signals obtained using optical coherence tomography provides a new window into tissue mechanics.
