Abstract
To bridge the gap between microscopic particle interactions and macroscopic wave propagation phenomena, we developed a microscopic particle-in-cell (MicPIC) approach that allows to model the dynamics of 108 to 109 particles at solid density. First simulations on large cluster processes in femtosecond laser pulses reveal new phenomena not accessible by any other existing method.
