High-Q UV whispering gallery mode resonators made of an angle-cut BBO crystal

Abstract

We report our initial investigation on whispering gallery mode resonators made of angle-cut beta barium borate. A quality factor of 1×108 is demonstrated at 370 nm. Polarization rotation along the resonator circumference is observed.
