Space-division Multiplexed Transmission in Novel Few-mode Fibers

Abstract

We present results of long distance space-division multiplexed multiple-input multiple-output transmission experiments in novel fibers supporting 6 spatial- and polarization modes. Results for few-mode fibers based on a single multimode core and fibers with multiple single mode cores with related mode couplers will be described in detail.
