Silicon Multiplexers/Demultiplexers for On-Chip Mode Division Multiplexing Based On Asymmetric Y-Junctions

Abstract

We demonstrate passive 2 × 1 and 3 × 1 multiplexers and demultiplexers for mode-division-multiplexing based on asymmetric Y-junctions. Crosstalk as low as -30 dB is measured.
