Optimization of Nanostructures for Enhanced Light Trapping in Thin-film Photovoltaics

Abstract

We report on a novel optimization method of designing nanostructures for light trapping in thin-film photovoltaics. Absorption enhancement via increasing local density of optical states in slot waveguide configuration is demonstrated to exceed ergodic limit.
