Development of Efficient Mid-infrared 3.5μm Fiber Laser

Abstract

An erbium doped ZBLAN glass fiber laser operating at 3.5μm with an average power of 40mW at room temperature is reported. A novel pumping scheme is used to significantly improve laser efficiency.
