Abstract
We provide the first experimental evidence of non-reciprocity achieved through a Brillouin scattering induced transparency phenomenon. The effect occurs due to direction-dependent opto-acoustic interaction of optical fields with a traveling phonon mode. We show that it can be optically controlled with sub-milliwatt input power, and could be used to implement isolators in any optically transparent material.
