Characterization of OAM states affected by turbulence for high-speed short-range links

Abstract

An experimental system is devised to generate, propagate, and detect OAM states over a free-space horizontal 400-m range. We characterize the effects of turbulence on the detection of orbital states and present statistical models for scintillation and crosstalk.
