Alignment-free QKD along a free-space channel combining spinorial and orbital angular momentum

Abstract

OAM in combination with polarization allows to encode by-means-of a Q-plate rotation-invariant photonic states, so as to guarantee full independence of the communication from the local reference frames of the transmitting and receiving units.
