Stable three-dimensional trapping of metallic nanoparticle at resonance with engineered vectorial optical field

Abstract

A novel strategy is proposed to optically trap gold nanoparticles even under the resonant condition using engineered optical field. This optical tweezers supports stable three-dimensional trapping while avoiding trap destabilization due to optical overheating.
