THz-Induced, High-Energy Electron Emission from Tungsten Nanotips

Abstract

Single-cycle THz pulses have been used to induce high energy (several keV) electron emission from nano-tipped tungsten wires. Comparison of the maximum electron energy as a function of tip radius and cone angle provides insight into the emission mechanism and local electron-field interaction.
