Human photoreceptor topography - 25 years and looking ahead

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

A comprehensive map of photoreceptors in human retinas enabled visualization and quantification of vision’s initial sampling array, informing today’s in vivo imaging techniques with sub-cellular resolution and mechanistic approaches to retinal pathology.
