Conical Cherenkov Terahertz Emission in Two-Color Laser-Produced Plasma

Abstract

We observe conical THz radiation from two-color laser-produced plasma at a broad range of densities. This conical emission results from Cherenkov-like phase-matching between fast moving ionization fronts and slow moving THz radiation.
