Abstract

Acoustically tailored fiber was developed to mitigate stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) in single-frequency 1178 nm fiber based amplifiers, while enhancing Raman gain by 30%. We demonstrate single and two-stage amplifiers with 11.2 W and 22.2 W of output power.
