Perspective of New Infrastructure of Fiber Communication: The Role of Coherent Light in SDM Era

Abstract

Recent progresses in optical comb and communications technologies are realizing new synergies such as switching or frequency-standard distribution for coherent transmission. Both applications are quite useful for next generation infrastructure which will sustain enormous traffic.
