Abstract

This paper presents a magnetostriction-based optical current sensor with wide dynamic range. It consists of a fiber Bragg grating embedded in a magnetostrictive composite with graded particle size distribution converting magnetostrictive strain into frequency chirp in proportional to magnetic field.
